Mazda 6 hatch with a manual transmission at a good price, but it’s a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
I’m trying to find a 4-cylinder manual Mazda6 hatch with a sunroof and not silver for a decent price.
I did see a 4-cylinder automatic 6 hatch at a good price.
There are a few orange manual hatchbacks for sale, but they’re all the V6! I will NOT get another transverse V6. NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are IMPOSSIBLE to work on!
Besides the 6 hatch, I’m considering a Vibe GT/Matrix XRS. My third choice is a 5th gen Camry with the stick.

Thar 3.0 is exactly the wrong engine for a 6. no guts, no fun. I’ve driven a manual, V6, hatch and it was so boring.

Yah know, the J series V6 in my Crosstour actually kind of made passing in that boat fun. It was still a heavy pig but I imagine that’s what hustling the Ridgeline would be like, just a tall Accord.

Nope, not when you need enhanced interrogation techniques to get to the back of the engine. A whole junkyard’s worth of shit you have to take off just to get back there!
The car
I have now is a transverse V6, but at least it has cutouts in the intake to access the rear spark plugs (but you still have to take everything off to get to the fuel injectors, valve cover gasket, etc). NO FUN!

I’d probably be keeping an eye out for a Matrix XRS if I didn’t buy a Saabaru instead. I think they’re a little better looking than the Vibe.

well thats a Honda Engine . the V6 in the 6 is based on the Duratec from a Taurus . I believe Mazda made some changes to the head and intake, but having driven both, they didn’t do enough.
Ford with Mazda engine= good
Mazda with Ford= no thanks.

Holy crap they got cheap.

To me, it doesn’t matter either way. That’s not the deciding factor. And Vibes are usually cheaper.
The Matrix/Vibe has 2 c
upholders. The Ma
zda6 has 6!

not in this case. a small amount of power increase to have worse gas mileage , a harder engine to service and a less exciting rev range.

You’re kidding, they’re STILL using the Duratec block? WTF

No they are talking about the motor options in the first gen mazda 6 hatch. The duratech went away in 2012 or so.

Ohhh okay. Whew. That makes way more sense, thank you for the clarification.

Hell that looks like it has tons of room to work on it. Try working on a 3rd gen Mopar van where the firewall literally wraps over the engine..

No, they actually have 4. There’s 2 for the back behind the center console that come out of what would be an ashtray on an old car like my dad’s Audi 4000.

Nice! I’m glad to know that! Thank you so much!! That really does make me feel better :o)
